Professional Advantage recently hosted an event for finance professionals in which over 60 attendees gathered at the Mint in Sydney to hear from keynote speaker Aubrey Joachim, past Global President of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants UK. Titled ‘The Visionary CFO Forum’, Aubrey discussed the changing role of the CFO, the risks associated with concentrating on the past and the benefits of a dynamic approach to financial reporting.
Aubrey provided attendees with a thought provoking presentation providing insights and challenging conventional thinking in a setting that allowed like-minded CFO’s to connect with each other. Attendees provided feedback relating to their organisation’s current use of Business Intelligence and Budgeting Tools currently and looking forward 12 months.
Encouragingly, a majority 82% of respondents, indicated they currently use some sort of reporting or budgeting/forecasting platform within their organisation, with 8% planning to implement one this year.
When asked the highest priority in relation to Business Intelligence and Budgeting Tools over the coming 12 months, 44% of respondents indicated the automation of the analytics, reporting and planning process was most important while 38% indicated implementing a Business Intelligence or Corporate Performance Strategy was their priority.
