Introduction

Dynamics 365 for Finance and Supply Chain is a powerful solution with expansive functionality, providing access to a lot of information. It is subsequently always helpful if we can optimise such a solution so that we can interact with it in a way that works for us.

Fortunately, one of our Finance and Supply Chain experts has brought forward some tips (both written and video) that will hopefully help you to achieve this.

1. Clean-up

Depending on your needs, you can hide or un-hide a variety of things on each screen:

  1. Related information.
  2. Menu (auto-hide).
  3. Header info.
  4. Line details.

2. Personalise

In each screen you can:

  1. Hide and Un-hide things.
  2. Insert fields.
  3. Move things.
  4. Save views and pin as default.

3. Streamline Processing

To save manual entry, you can:

  1. Copy and paste values from Excel or elsewhere.
  2. Select rows > Edit selected rows in bulk.

And to save having to go to export to Excel all the time, you can:

  1. Freeze column.
  2. Group by column.
  3. View column totals.

4. Make workspaces our own

In the out-of-the-box workspaces you can:

  1. Change labels.
  2. Hide things.
  3. Change Tile sizes.
  4. Pin tiles to the dashboard (home screen).
  5. Save views.

5. Create our own workspace

You can even create your own custom workspace and add a variety of content to it.

6. Your user options

In user options, you can set some defaults to suit your needs.
